The Head Head Sommelier identifies and purchases wines for the organization. Manages the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the organization's wine collection. Being a Head Head Sommelier works with the kitchen staff to develop food and wine pairings. Monitors the conditions of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage. In addition, Head Head Sommelier recommends and serves wine to guests. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent. May possess or be working towards certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. Working as a Head Head Sommelier typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. KEY FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the PHS/EHS Center-based Coordinator, direct supervision may be assigned
according to program needs. The Child Development Assistant will be trained in the positions of Teacher,
Teacher Assistant, Classroom Assistant, and Food Manger in order to fill in where needed, providing services to
children and families.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:- Establishing a safe classroom environment through utilizing best practices in classroom and behavior management.
- Encouraging social and emotional development through positive behavioral support and direct social skills instruction.
- Enhancing student language skills through continuous verbal interactions in both direct and indirect instruction opportunities.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ensuring student safety through active supervision of students and the physical classroom environment.
- Ensuring that basic physical and emotional needs of students are met including: changing children’s clothing, assisting in toileting, and changing diapers.
- Long/short term substitute in the above mentioned areas when Head Start staff needs to take a long term leave of absence.
- Willing to travel to all service areas and fill in where needed to ensure continual quality program operations.
- Help ensure disability and male involvement requirements are completed as needed.
- Other duties as needed.
- AA or BS degree in Early Child Education or related field.
- Ability to work with young children and their families.
- Ability to be flexible and work well in a variety of areas.
- Experience working with young children.
All employment with Bear River Head Start is contingent upon Policy Council approval, and successful results of a background check. All applicants must also pass a drug test prior to hire including working with children and families.
