DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Safety Analyst for John Deere Waterloo Foundry located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will assist the Safety Lead in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating health and safety management programs and processes to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all appropriate laws, regulations, and standards at a complex Foundry facility.
· Analyze appropriate health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
· Conduct periodic inspections, risk assessment, incident investigations, and ergonomic evaluations
· Assist in corrective action development and ensure follow-up
· Develop and deliver safety education and training tracking 90% for employees
· Cority Data Input (Corrective Actions, 300, 300A, BLS Survey)
· Powered Industrial Trucks Audits (Daily Inspections Checks)
· Near Miss Database Management
· Generation of weekly, monthly and annual statistical graphs
· PPE Program Management floor audits, Eye Injury reduction program eyeglasses/ goggles usage
· SEAMS Scheduling and Facilitation (Graphs, Past Due Reports)
· Weekly notifications to supervisor to meet safety scorecard KPI’s
· LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical JSA floor verification of usage
· Silica and Heat Monitoring -Test results 15-day employee verification of employee signatures
REQUIRED:
· MS Office Experience
· Great communication skills
· Strong skill set in creating spreadsheets, pivot tables, and slide presentations.
· 3 or more years of experience as an Occupational Health and Safety professional in a manufacturing or industrial environment
· 1 or more years of experience conducting investigations to determine root cause and trends analysis
· 1 or more years of experience applying governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs, and ergonomic principles in the workplace
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with both salary and wage personnel while managing conflict resolution
· 1 or more years of experience implementing occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic principles for an organization or business unit
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related discipline
DESIRED:
· Experience working in manufacturing, or factory environment
· Experience working with collective bargaining units
Additional notes:
Business casual dress code, metatarsal safety shoes, safety glasses, and hard hat will be required. This position may drive to other Waterloo facilities for meetings. May also drive a John Deere owned Gator on shop floor after completing training.
