Health Information Services Director directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Being a Health Information Services Director reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Additionally, Health Information Services Director ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. At NorthBay Health the Director of Environmental Services is responsible to maintain overall cleanliness of NorthBay Medical Center, VacaValley Hospital, and other supported locations to the highest standard possible. The Director manages the day to day operations of the EVS departments, ensuring a consistently high level of cleanliness and appearance to patients, visitors and staff via managing and directing Environmental Services staff, budgets, equipment and supplies. The Director provides leadership, direction and management oversight for maintaining quality and continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within NorthBay facilities. The Director makes sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission and supports the organization’s vision to be a leader in providing the best facility for patient care, safety, service and value. Ensures compliance with hospital standard practices and all regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: Bachelor's degree with 3 years EVS leadership experience in a hospital setting, or Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) required. Master’s Degree preferred.
2*. Licensure/Certification*: Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification required in leiu of a Bachelor’s degree, otherwise CHESP is preferred.
3. Experience: Five years of progressively responsible management/supervisory experience with three years in environmental services and/or hospital related departments. Knowledge of hospital infection control practices, environmental services policies and procedures, Joint Commission Environment of Care requirements, Cal-OSHA regulations, Title 22 regulations, Hazardous material regulations, ADA and AHJ requirements.
4. Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite required; Word and Excel and EVS software systems preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations. Must be well organized, be able to set priorities, work independently and is an effective team member.
5. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the NorthBay Way.
