Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position Summary:
The Mechanical Assembler position will be responsible for working as part of a team and individually to perform a variety of assembly tasks proficiently and efficiently. Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimum supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using a variety of portable or hand tools. Uses knowledge of commonly used assembly concepts, practices, and procedures.
