Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Duties and Requirements:
- Assembly of industrial products including: hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assembly.
- Inspect products for accuracy and quality.
- Must be able to measure with a ruler.
- Meticulous attention to safety and product quality.
- Overtime work as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Ability to work in a team environment with other assemblers.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Able to work either 7:00am - 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm.
