Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The HD Mechanic has ability to repair and service Boart Longyear's drill rig fleet and support equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose malfunctions and failures within the hydraulic, electrical, and power train components. Ability to identify failures with the use of electronic tools, schematics and other trouble shooting methods as needed. Candidate shall also demonstrate proper communication to effectively explain equipment conditions, repair status and repair recommendations to management.
