Helicopter Pilot is responsible for operation of helicopter. Ensures flight is conducted in the safest manner possible. Being a Helicopter Pilot determines flight routes, speed, and take off and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements. Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations. Additionally, Helicopter Pilot requires 1,000 hours of helicopter flying time. May require an associate degree. Requires Commercial Pilot license for helicopters - CPL (H). Helicopter Repairer (ARMY)

    Overview:
    The UH-60 Helicopter Repairer is primarily responsible for the maintenance of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. With hundreds of Army missions depending on these helicopters, UH-60 Helicopter Repairers must ensure that all of them are safe and ready to fly. 
     
    Job Duties:
    •  Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions and mechanical flight controls.
    • Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems.
    • Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
    • Assist in diagnosing/troubleshooting.

    Requirements:
    • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
    • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Mechanical Maintenance (MM): 104 on the ASVAB.
    • Those who want to serve must first take the ASVAB, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.

    Training:
    Job training for a UH-60 Helicopter Repairer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time in the classroom, and part takes place in the field. 
     
    Some of the skills you’ll learn are: 
    • Engine disassembly and repair
    • Repair of aluminum, steel and fiberglass airframes/coverings
    • Repair of hydraulic, fuel and electrical systems
     
    Helpful Skills:
    • Preference for mathematics and shop mechanics
    • Interest in working with aircraft and engine mechanics.
    • Ability to use hand and power tools.
