About the role: LABBB is hiring a High School Special Education Teacher to work with students with mild to moderate intellectual and or neurological disorders who may need supervision and occasional support with personal care needs. The classroom is a multi-grade substantially separate classroom located at Arlington High School in Arlington. Emphasis on the development of social, communication, and behavior skills are thread throughout daily classroom activities. Candidate should have experience in ABA, modifying curriculum, use of a variety of instructional technology, including some AAC/AT knowledge and working with general education teachers to create an inclusive school culture and opportunities for students.
Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:, •Provide direct teaching services for children and adolescents in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations for educational and school-based purposes. •Write and implement goals, objectives, accommodations, modifications, service delivery, transition planning, and summary of student performance as needed for the IEP; Attend IEP meetings to communicate results of evaluations/ re-evaluations, goals, objectives, accommodations, modifications, intervention plan, and type of service delivery needed. •Attends required staff meetings; professional development trainings; and serve, as appropriate, on staff committees. •Complete regular documentation including data collection, progress notes, individualized education plans, formal and informal assessments, and Medicaid billing as indicated. •Supervise Teaching Assistants •Support students' development of independence, social awareness, language, academic skills and appropriate behavior. •Create and modify curriculum materials, support, and instructional strategies as necessary to meet students’ needs in the classroom and community settings. •Collaborate with members of multidisciplinary teams including teachers, BCBA, OT, PT, SLP, Counselors, and Vision providers and implement treatment plans as needed or requested to support skill development, generalization, and transition planning across settings and throughout the day. •Uphold LABBB’s mission and core values as well as adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the field and contribute to a positive and safe school culture. •Support students’ personal care needs which may include activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as communication, toileting, feeding, transferring, self-care, and assistance with mobility including lifting.
Salary Range: $68,272 to $129,851, commensurate with experience and education. *2024-2025 Salary range is for school year and includes compensation for required 4-week summer program.
