Summary
- This position will be responsible for the day to day operations of the EVS department during their assigned shift in accordance with the established standards. EVS is a 24 hour a day 365 day a year operation that is responsible for cleaning and sterilization of all public, patient, and caregiver areas within the main hospital campus and all offsite locations as well. EVS is also responsible for all trash/waste transportation, hazardous spill clean-up/containment, pest management program, as well as various other tasks.

This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
- Establish a Culture. The Manager works in collaboration with their management team and front line caregivers to establish a culture that aligns with the organizations Mission and Vision statements. Anticipates changes that will be required to realize the culture; and guides transformation in a systematic and inspirational manner.
- Building Partnerships. A primary role for the Manager is to build highly effective and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization. The Manager—as a content expert—is effective in assessing customer needs, educating customers in the EVS processes, and keeps customers informed relative to changes and improvements.
- People Development. The Manager accomplishes his or her departmental and organizational goals through effective selection, development and coaching their caregivers. The Manager sees self and front-line caregiver development as an integral obligation and function of his or her role.
- Performance Management. The Manager works in partnership with management team and caregiver team to establish annual and ongoing measures of performance and assures alignment to expected department and process area measures.

Quality. The Manager is a key advocate to assure services provided to the organization are carried out with the greatest attention to quality. The Manager sets priorities and assures department initiatives meet organizational standards, as well as all local, State and Federal compliance requirements.

Administrative Function. The Manager works with the management team to contribute to and monitor the department operational budgets. The Manager works with others to define equipment, supply, labor and other resource needs. Helps prioritize among competing needs, and works with the Team Leader to finalize annual budget.

Evidence-Based Leadership. The Manager continually gathers information from a variety of sources: customers, caregivers, leaders, and others to identify critical issues and problems and develops solutions. This leader continually seeks knowledge related to best-practice, evidence-based leadership approaches and engages others through effective listening and teaching while offering feedback and encouragement.

Continuous Improvement. The Manager represents the department on a variety of multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and committees contributing to broader organizational outcomes. The Manager invests in continuous learning and education to develop and enhance their own capabilities and to maintain knowledge of national trends.

Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.Completion of Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention CPI one year from start date. Become a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) thru American Hospital Association (AHA) one year from start date. Complete Managing Infection Prevention During the Construction & Operation of Health Care Facilities thru American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) 180 days from start date. Other classes, certifications, and education as assigned by organization or leaders
- Three years customer service and/or account management required. Two years ,anagement and/or supervisory of direct reports, processes, and/or procedures required. Environmental Services, distribution and product management preferred.
