Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team at a high-volume dealership. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support in a fast-paced environment. As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for managing the service process, from initial consultation to completion, while providing guidance on vehicle maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Greet and consult with customers to identify their vehicle needs and provide a detailed estimate of the required work.
- Utilize specialized knowledge of automotive systems, components, and procedures to diagnose and recommend necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance.
- Use cash handling skills to process payments, manage customer accounts, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely and efficient completion of all work.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, dealership policies, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as needed, including assisting with vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership or similar setting.
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and repair common vehicle problems.
- Experience with cash handling and customer service.
- Familiarity with dealership management software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
- Certification in automotive service or related field is preferred.
- Experience with diesel engine repair and air brake systems is an added advantage.
- Valid driver's license is necessary for this role.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
