About this Position

Pinyon is looking for an experienced and motivated Industrial Hygienist to become the next member of our team. Primary tasks for this position will involve providing comprehensive health, safety, and industrial hygiene consultative services to a myriad of

service, manufacturing, and government clients, onsite hazard evaluation and monitoring, conducting health and safety training, assessments, data analysis, and technical writing.

Essential Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

Conduct exposure monitoring for various types of potential exposure hazards, such as : silica; respirable and total dust;

chemicals; fungal spores; and personal noise dosimetry

• Conduct all sampling in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as any internal company / organization policies
• Assist with planning, executing, analyzing and reporting on all assigned projects
• Assist clients in drafting and implementing OSHA compliant programs, develop and deliver OSHA compliant worker training programs
• Some travel within the Rocky Mountain Region may be required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety or Environmental & Occupational Health, or a related science field is a requirement
• 3 to 6 years of experience in industrial hygiene is required
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training Certified with current annual refresher. Pinyon will provide certification or recertification, if necessary
• Experience with various field instrumentation, such as personal noise dosimeters and air sampling pumps; IAQ monitors
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) are required
• Ability and willingness to take on various responsibilities in other Environmental Service areas is desirable
• Candidate should have the capacity to work outdoors in all seasons through various kinds of weather
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs
• Asbestos in soil experience and certifications are beneficial but not required
