To provide an Assistant Health Program Administrator. This Assistant Health Program Administrator will work as a part of the RIDOH Center for Emergency Medical Service'
s team and assist with managing two federal grant programs. The first is a Mental Health Awareness Training grant for first responders, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
This grant program promotes various education programs for EMS responders to increase knowledge and understanding of mental health crises, along with education on how to respond to these emergencies for patients and peers.
The second grant program for this position is the EMS for Children State Partnership grant, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
The EMS for Children State Partnership grant (EMSC SP) increases pediatric inclusion for pre-hospital and hospital emergency agencies, pediatric preparedness, and pediatric considerations with disaster planning.
This position will work under the general supervision of a superior with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
Work is subject to review upon completion through oral and / or written reports for conformance to laws, rules, regulations, departmental policies, and objectives.
