The Instructional Designer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being an Instructional Designer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Instructional Designer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Instructional Designer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Montana is seeking an experienced page designer to elevate the visual presentation of its print editions. This designer will produce news and feature pages on deadline for the daily newspaper serving Northwest Montana. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your expertise in Adobe Creative Suite to design visually appealing and engaging print pages.
- Craft captivating headlines that grab readers' attention and convey the essence of the stories.
- Collaborate effectively with editors to ensure the seamless integration of content and design.
- Demonstrate mastery of AP style to maintain consistency and high editorial standards in our publication.
- Exercise strong news judgment to curate and present information that resonates with our readership.
- Exhibit dependable and consistent performance in meeting deadlines, ensuring a smooth production process.
- Uphold a strong sense of journalistic ethics, adhering to the principles of accuracy, fairness, and integrity.
- Embrace the value of community news and its impact on local readers.
Qualifications:
- Professional experience in page design is preferred. However, recent college graduates with exceptional clips from college publications and internships will also be considered.
