The Instructional Designer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being an Instructional Designer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Instructional Designer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Instructional Designer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     About The Opportunity:

    FedTec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Designer to join our dynamic instructional design team. This role requires reviewing products throughout the analysis, design, and development phases, ensuring adherence to style guidelines, writing standards, and logical course/task flow.

    Position: Instructional Designer

    Work Location: In-Person

    Client: United States Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA)

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with instructional design team and ISS to design functional training and performance support solutions.
    • Utilize design techniques such as fading and scaffolding to produce course-related products supporting regeneration.
    • Engage in visual design, prototyping, and usability testing and evaluation.
    • Review products throughout analysis, design, and development for adherence to style guidelines, writing standards, and sensible course/task flow.
    • Develop and document instructor-led, paper-based, and technology-delivered curricula or functional training solutions.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design.
    • Minimum five (5) years of course design and development experience.
    • Excellent writing skills and ability to coordinate effectively with subject matter experts.
    • Moderate to advanced knowledge of ISD process and innovative design techniques.
    • Moderate to advanced proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Working knowledge of Storyline development tool.
    • Ability to present complex information clearly.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and client interaction skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to act as a technical editor.
    • Proven experience as a team player.
