Job Description:
PVPA has an opportunity for a full time Biology Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who collaborates effectively with colleagues and understands the varied needs of students in grades 9-12. An ideal candidate is a strong educator well versed in biology curriculum that includes laboratory skills, biochemistry and cell biology, genetics, anatomy and physiology, biodiversity, ecology, and evolution. Students are expected to display their knowledge both individually and through group work in a variety of ways, including written pieces, class activities, homework, assessments, quizzes and tests, and lab work. This course allows students to make a connection between biology in the classroom and biology in the “real world," as well as prepare students for the Biology MCAS test. Salary Range: $42,000 to $66,705 Annually. Additional $1,000 stipend for individuals who hold a DESE license in subject area and potential for bonus at the end of the fiscal year.
2024-2025 school year consists of 180 school days plus 5 professional development/curriculum work days and a thirty-five hour work week that includes, on average, three class blocks per day of collaborative/independent work time.
