Instructor - Computer Science teaches courses in the discipline area of computer and information sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Computer Science provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     UCM is located in Warrensburg, MO, which is 35 miles southeast of the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is a public comprehensive university with over 10,000 students. The Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology and Software Engineering with over 1400 students. The undergraduate Computer Science and Cybersecurity programs are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. The undergraduate Software Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

    The Department Computer Science and Cybersecurity at the University of Central Missouri is
    accepting applications for several non-tenure track positions in Computer Science and
    Cybersecurity. The appointment will begin January or August 2024. We are looking for faculty
    excited by the prospect of shaping our department’s future and contributing to its sustained
    excellence.

    Duties will include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in computer
    science, cybersecurity, data science, information technology or software engineering, and
    developing new courses depending upon the expertise of the applicant and school needs,
    program accreditation and assessment. Faculty are expected to assist with school and university
    committee work and service activities and advising majors.
    Education & Formal Training Master's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training
    • M.S. in Computer Science or a closely related area required
    • Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related areas preferred.
    Computer Skills Presentation, Class Management Software Experience
    • Demonstrated ability to teach existing courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate
      levels.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
