Under general supervision, will provide instruction to students in English courses on the Coffee and Ben
Hill-Irwin Campuses and high schools in our service area as required; prepare lesson plans for classroom and
online instruction for credited arts and sciences courses; develop program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and
objectives; and evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Prepare and maintain all required
documentation and administrative reports; attend professional development training, workshops, seminars, and
conferences; ensure safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area; meet with students, staff
members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues; assist with
recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS
Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, Regular use of college owned or a personal vehicle for
Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Periodic travel between major
Wiregrass campuses and satellite sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in English or Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in English* from an academic institution
that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of
Education. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
*Education courses related to the teaching of English are not considered discipline specific in meeting
this requirement. Coursework must be in English or closely related discipline aligned to course
competencies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more
of the following: Master's Degree in English. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary is $52,000/yr. This position is full‐time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave
accrual, options for health & other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the
successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or in
part by State/Local/Tuition funds.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS
