Job Title: Nursing Instructor
Summary:
Responsible for the effective communication of course related information to students, utilizing diverse and participative instructional strategies. Must adhere to the standardized curriculum and lesson plans, inspire and motivate students by effective role modeling. Sensitive to student needs and able to identify appropriate resources to support student successes and achievement.
Minimum Requirements:
-Prepares and plans adequately for effective classroom, laboratory or clinical instruction, ensuring that the lesson plan and presentation strategies are well prepared, the learning environment is optimal, and the instructional materials are in proper working order.
-Follows the standardized curriculum, focusing on the unit objectives or clinical proficiencies; communicates appropriately with the school administration and Registrar regarding any curriculum or lesson plan, test changes or improvement.
-Teaches English as required by our curriculum and presented to our students.
-Demonstrates appropriate presentation/speaking skills including the introduction of a wide diversity of instructional strategies encouraging active student participation.
-Demonstrates appropriate use of written reference materials as well as audiovisual and other instructional aids. 6. Utilizes diverse questioning strategies to determine depth and range of student understanding.
-Ensures that the learning environment is maintained in a neat and orderly manner, and that all equipment is cleaned and returned to its appropriate storage position following use.
-Maintains administrative records in a well-organized, accurate and timely manner, including attendance, academic proficiency evaluations, curriculum, etc.
-Complies with all the school policies and strictly enforces them in an unbiased manner as stated in the school catalog or as otherwise determined by administration.
-Attends and actively participates in school functions, including but not limited to, such activities as receptions, open houses, graduations, faculty meetings, inservice sessions, advisory committee meetings, etc...
-Performs substitute instruction or other education-related assignments when required by the administration. 12. Identifies, advises and remediate students with behavioral deficiencies, (i.e., cognitive, affection and psychomotor).
-Understands the importance of an active and comprehensive student retention program, recognizing the potential “at-risk” student, actively providing support or referring the student to the appropriate staff member for assistance.
-Keeps professional credentials, licensure and knowledge current, by attending continuing education and professional development activities.
-Recognizes that vacation time cannot be taken during normal class schedule, and acknowledged that vacation time can be taken only during the month of July (week of the fourth) and in December (Christmas/New Year recess).
-Performs other similar duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
-Have a Bachelor/Master Degree from a recognized University in the U.S.A., a current active license in the field as well as a minimum four years practical experience in the occupation or subject area of instruction is required.
- Previous work experience as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Nurse Educator.
-Excellent Communication and Teaching Skills, Someone with a high level of empathy that communicates effectively with students. Strong commitment to providing the highest quality patient care and Value the importance of teaching others the correct techniques that will allow them to do the same.
- Ability to work under pressure and ability to make decisions according to established guidelines. Computer literacy in work processing and spreadsheets as well as PowerPoint is required. Must be able to use Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Ability to work unsupervised and to accomplish tasks accurately and on a timely basis. High organization and ability to prioritize work. Proficient in instructional methodology and techniques, curriculum development, supervision, management, instruction, evaluation and counseling.
- Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish & English) Required.
