Insurance and Risk Management Director oversees an organization's overall insurance program to manage and minimize risk and costs. Manages strategic objectives and policies to ensure effective insurance coverage for the organization. Being an Insurance and Risk Management Director conducts regular policy reviews and research. Compiles loss trends and reviews actuarial estimations to make recommendations. Additionally, Insurance and Risk Management Director administers systems to collect data and generate meaningful models and reporting to support decisions. Creates processes that identify risk exposure and classify, measure, and manage insurable risks. Develops the appropriate mix of insurance coverage for the organization and negotiates policy pricing and terms with vendors. May review and approve policy renewals and applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Insurance and Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Insurance and Risk Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Commercial Insurance Account Associate Job Summary:

    The Commercial Lines Account Associate is responsible for assisting the Account Manager with processing renewals, certificates of insurance, and endorsements for the Commercial Insurance Department. Additionally, this position will maintain client information in the agency management system. The Account Associate performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.

    Qualifications for Commercial Insurance Account Associate:

    • Property & Casualty License preferred.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of commercial account experience preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others, to explain insurance issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and to respond appropriately.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
    • Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

    Essential Functions for the Commercial Insurance Account Associate:

    • Assists Account Manager with all Commercial account transactions as needed assuring that all items are handled in a timely manner, are accurate, and reflect the established agency procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, processes all data entry within Agency Management System, policy issuance and endorsements, certificates and ID cards, proposals, schedules, and summaries of insurance, audits, facilitating corrections as needed, and minimal client/carrier correspondence.
    • Account Associate will be responsible for Front-end processing using established agency procedures including receiving and processing transaction items, completing initial policy review and updating the agency management system, and managing the posting and processing of billing notices (including cancellation/reinstatements) and transactional items.
    • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
    • Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
    • Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
    • Actively seek ways to improve client service and communicate ideas for improved client service to superior positions.
    • Comply with departmental reporting requirements.
