Billing / Intake Coordinator - Outpatient Rehabilitation
Job Summary :
Performs a variety of intake and billing tasks related to patient support in the Rehabilitation Department. The Intake and Billing Coordinator is flexible in responsibilities and able to perform in an interdisciplinary team-based atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities :
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
1. Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).
2. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
Referral / Billing Management
1. Obtains the necessary information to process referrals / authoriations for outpatient services
2. Follows up on needed / missing information to complete process in a timely manner
3. Monitors all referrals for accuracy and follows through on all that are not processed within time frame of 48 hours.
4. Communicates all necessary details to all interested parties within a timely manner.
5. Accuaretly enters charges utilizing the electronic health record (Meditech)
Schedule Management
1. Accurately enters all pertinent information into schedule slot
2. Monitors and adjusts schedules daily to ensure staff efficiency
Required Knowledge and Skill :
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Athena and Meditech experience preferred.
Experience with an electronic health record within the medical office preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills required.
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language fluently required.
Ability to analyze and solve operational issues independently and creatively required.
Education and Experience :
Education : Associates Degree
Experience : One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
