Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Full Job Description
Responsibilities:- Perform clinical duties under the supervision of a provider in a high volume, patient-centered medical clinic.
- Assist providers in exam rooms; escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital statistics, and document in the electronic record.
- Give instructions to patients per provider's orders; access reports, and labs; keep exam rooms stocked with medical supplies.
- Take phone messages; provide feedback and answer patient/physician/pharmacy questions; other duties as assigned by Practice Managers.
Skills:- Exceptional customer service and critical thinking; ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow; ability to multitask; capable of standing, walking, lifting, and other physical tasks as needed for prolonged periods.
Minimum Requirements:- High school graduate or equivalent; certified Medical Assistant or equivalent work experience preferred; computer literacy; ability to stand, walk, lift, climb, and other physical tasks as needed.
- Medical Assistant experience preferred.
