About This Position
The IT/Production Technician will play a dual role in ensuring our organization's customer satisfaction and operational excellence. The role will be split evenly between Production Support and Site Technical Support responsibilities. The production support portion will include designing, documenting, and implementing configurations that satisfy both external customer requirements and internal operational standards. In the site technician portion, the IT/Production Technician serves as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, offering solutions and escalating issues as needed. The IT/Production Technician is responsible for tracking and routing issues to the appropriate resources for resolution.
Responsibilities
50% Production Support:
- Meet with external customer representatives to determine their requirements.
- Design and document a configuration that meets their requirements and our own internal requirements (requirements come from engineering, IT, production, and executive), including set-up instructions and final checkout.
- Train the production team to use the setup document.
- Resolve issues identified by production during the setup process.
- Resolve issues identified during final checkout.
- Present the final product to the customers for approval.
- Generate test plans, conduct tests, and produce test reports detailing results and evidence.
50% Site Technical Support
- Provide first-level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues
- Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support
- Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources
- Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution
- Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of tickets
- Identify and implement procedure modifications and improvements
- Managing technical documentation
- Work with and coordinate IT vendors
- Additional hours may be required to support development or production goals
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Security within 6 months of hire
- Minimum High School Diploma: hands-on experience and capability are prioritized
- Preferred Education: Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 3 years’ experience as an IT Technician or similar role
- Experience working in Microsoft enterprise environments (Windows workstations/servers, Microsoft 365)
- Hands-on experience with diverse PC computer systems and networking technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi, VLAN, VPN, VOIP, 802.1x, etc.)
- Experience with Windows configuration and Group Policy
- Powershell / Bat scripting to automate certain repeatable tasks
- Familiarity with imaging Windows workstations
- Familiarity with Bitlocker
- Basic network IP configuration, and subnetting
- Familiarity with STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) – DoD Cyber Exchange)
- Industrializing design/process for serial production
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
