    Class Title: IT / SCADA Technician

    FLSA: Non Exempt

     

    Summary of Position

    Travis County Water Control and Improvement District No. 17 is currently looking for a full-time, entry-level IT/SCADA support person. The IT/SCADA department works closely with water and wastewater facilities and office personnel.

    Qualifications For this Position Include:

     

    1. Experience with Motorola ACE 36xx and AB PLCs including MODBUS, DeviceNet, and Ethernet communications.
    2. Experience in development and support of HMI software (i.e. Ignition by Inductive Automation and IFix by GE
    3. Control Panel experience with 120V and 24V relay logic.
    4. Experience with computers, software and
    5. A self-motivated individual; a good team player; someone who takes accountability and ownership of his/her own work with strong attention to detail

    6. Exhibit willingness and ability to work with different personalities and work styles
    7. Ability to work schedules which include On-Call rotation, some weekend and after-hours (overtime) work as required

    Duties and Responsibilities

    PLC and SCADA troubleshooting and configuration

    • Install and troubleshoot SCADA and IT network
    • Documentation of network and IT inventory
    • Some IT support will include Office Suite, Gmail, desktop/laptop, and printers.

    Experience level:

    • 3 years

    • 8-hour shift

    Experience:

    • IT: 1 year (Required)
    • PLC: 2 years (Required)
    • SCADA: 2 years (Required)

    Ability to:

    • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and prepare written reports of activities performed.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
    • Deal effectively with the public in stressful situations.
    • Tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse weather conditions.
    • Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, and O & M manuals, including schematics, drawings, blueprints, and technical data instructions.
    • Use and care for tools and equipment.
    • Work overtime as required.
    • Work on-call.
    • Work in confined spaces such as manholes, wet wells, and valve boxes.

    Acceptable Experience and Training

    Must have a minimum associate's Degree in a technical or mathematical field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.

    Must have a minimum of two years of experience in writing logic for PLCs and the calibration and testing of instruments.

    Licenses and Certifications

    Valid Texas Class C Drivers License.
