Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Senior Developer to join our dynamic team as a technical specialist focused on the AASHTOWare Project (AWP). This remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in developing, implementing, and optimizing innovative transportation solutions. You will closely collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to deliver exceptional functionality for the AWP Preconstruction and CRL modules in an Agile environment. Your contributions will play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AASHTOWare Project (AWP) systems tailored to transportation project requirements.
• Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of AWP Preconstruction and CRL module functionalities.
• Create custom reports utilizing AWP’s Active Reports tool (Grape City Tool) and manage system interfaces.
• Conduct automated testing and apply best practices to uphold the quality and security of all technical solutions.
• Assist in system administration, report generation, and configuration tasks as part of ongoing AWP support and enhancement.
• Work effectively within a cross-functional Agile SCRUM team to break down development tasks into manageable backlog items, typically requiring 1-2 weeks of effort.
• Provide expert technical guidance on AASHTOWare Project, sharing insights into AWP tools, processes, and data models.
• Contribute to the formulation of testing protocols to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  
  

Required Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and analysis, with a proven capacity for independent work.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, C#, .NET, Python, PowerShell, and command-line tools for web application development.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including coding standards and security protocols.
• Proven experience working within an Agile framework, particularly as part of SCRUM teams.
• Ability to translate business user requirements into effective technical solutions and configurations for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
• Familiarity with source code maintenance using version control systems like GIT.
• Experience collaborating with state Department of Transportation (DOT) clients and an understanding of DOT business processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AASHTOWare Project and its core functionalities, including the Preconstruction and CRL modules.
• Expertise in the AASHTOWare Project's data model and Interactive Data Model tool for developing customized solutions.
• Experience in creating test scripts and conducting automated testing, particularly during application upgrades.
