Job Description
The Lead IT Engineer will be responsible for design, influence and provide guidance to executive leadership for future initiative & infrastructure decisions. Research and identify solutions that enhance and progress technology for the organization. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide direction with budgetary decisions for peer team members as well as senior IT leadership.

- Research and identify solutions that enhance and progress technology for the organization
- Provide direction with budgetary decisions for peer team members, as well as senior IT leadership
- Minimize resolution time for support incidents and problems
- Assist with preparing analyses and after-action review for incidents
- Design preventative maintenance strategies for infrastructure systems
- Anticipate and mitigate potential attack vectors to infrastructure systems, to maximize system security
- Create policy for system security, standardization, and controls throughout the organization
- Responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M) support of Rubrik, Commvault and BackupExec servers
- (O&M) support of Windows/Linux servers, Backup Software/Hardware, Storage Hardware, crisis management, change management, and hands-on technical support.
- Advanced experience with Rubrik, Commvault and Backup Exec architecture/configuration/management
- Advanced experience with Dell and IBM Tape Libraries and Virtual Tape Libraries
- Advanced experience with administration of SAN systems
- Advanced skillset in modern Microsoft Windows desktop, Microsoft Windows Server and Linux servers
- Advanced skillset in VMware ESXi, VMware vSphere and other related VMware applications
- Installation, configuration, and O&M support of monitoring solutions across platforms like OpManager, Dynatrace, Zabbix, New Relic, vROps, and others.
- O&M application of security updates and monthly patch management across all systems
- Vulnerability remediation of infrastructure elements
- Perform incident and change management on all devices and operating systems
- Perform maintenance as required
- 10 years of experience in an IT environment
- Participate in on call schedule and patch rotations
- Mentor other Mid-Level Storage and Backup Administrators/Engineers
- A college degree or equivalent work experience
- Extensive experience and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation as well as the ability to identify problems in advance and to propose solutions
- Require limited supervision and direction; drive results, and set priorities appropriately & independently
- Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to successfully manage the technical implementation of complex engineering projects
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing and editorial abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to work on a 24x7 on-call, weekday and weekend schedule
- Advanced experience with administration of hyperconverged systems.
- Technical understanding of IP networks and integrations with systems
- SSO implementation, configuration and troubleshooting
- Able to travel up to 4 weeks out of the year
