IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Assists with selecting the company's product and service providers and tracks the procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Manager leads request for proposals (RFP) process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Manager works closely with internal teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an IT Vendor Relationship Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Overview:

    We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Supply Chain & Vendor Quality Manager to join our team in Reno, NV. This unique role blends expertise in international supply chain management with a strong focus on vendor quality assurance. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to source, procure, and manage logistics for high-quality products while ensuring all suppliers meet rigorous quality and specification standards. This position requires a proactive professional capable of negotiating contracts, managing freight logistics, and fostering strong supplier relationships, all while driving a culture of quality compliance.


    Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Management

    • Develop and execute strategies for efficient international supply chain operations, including sourcing, procurement, and logistics.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with international suppliers and freight forwarders to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery.
    • Oversee freight logistics, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international suppliers, focusing on collaboration and trust.


    • Vendor Quality Assurance
    • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
    • Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers, comparing data to internal specifications to ensure compliance.
    • Conduct routine and ad-hoc audits of suppliers to assess their quality management systems and capabilities.
    • Develop and maintain a vendor quality management program to ensure consistent supply of high-quality materials.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve quality issues related to vendor-supplied materials.


    Process Improvement and Collaboration

    • Partner with internal teams, including Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Operations, to align supply chain practices with company standards.
    • Drive initiatives to streamline supply chain processes while maintaining a focus on quality assurance.
    • Support product development teams by sourcing raw materials that meet stringent quality requirements.


    • Qualifications
    • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
    • 5 years of experience in international supply chain management, including contract negotiation and freight logistics.
    • 3 years of experience in vendor quality management with a solid understanding of quality assurance processes.
    • Technical Skills
    • Proficient in reviewing and interpreting Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and comparing them to product specifications.
    • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO, GMP, HACCP, or equivalent.
    • Advanced skills in supply chain management tools and ERP systems. 


    Soft Skills

    • Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills to foster strong supplier partnerships.
    • High attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret technical data.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
