  • JOB OBJECTIVE SUMMARY:

    The Janitorial Manager is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: Providing oversight, coordination, personnel management, quality control, and customer satisfaction for all Workforce Development and Hope Network Services Corp janitorial and groundskeeping operations. This is achieved through the development and on-going management of worksites with strong attention to: meeting contract obligations, provision of quality customer service, management and development of staff, and procurement of participants and staff for the work crews including coordinating with internal service lines/external organizations for the purpose of recruiting/supporting participants engaged in SourceAmerica and other specialty services. Duties include site coverage and hands-on work as needed to fulfill contractual obligations.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee and monitor the operations of all contracts, assuring contractual standards are met. Includes partnering peer(s) to assure acceptable contract management, creating weekly staff work schedules, and providing hands on work coverage as needed.
    • Provide leadership and promote an environment that encourages teamwork, excellence, and creativity across WFD Janitorial Operations and HNSC.
    • Work in partnership with the Executive Director and staff to develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with funders, service providers, referral sources, business representatives, educational institutions, customers; federal, state and local contracting officers, site managers, vendors and other key stakeholders. Including regularly schedule meetings with each customer site regarding performance, adherence to contracts, concerns, corrective actions, etc.
    • Works with the WFD Executive Director to assure accurate and timely reporting and balance of service for both Workforce Development and/or Hope Network Service Corp service lines.
    • Responsible to deliver and follow-up on customer satisfaction with documented monthly customer satisfaction assessments, for use to measure performance and to make necessary adjustments to ensure a successful relationship.
    • In partnership with Site Supervisors, oversee the management of staff: including recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, development, discipline/coaching, and support of participants working on the crews. Schedule and conduct regular meetings with Site Supervisors to review on-going operations and new developments at a minimum of quarterly.
    • Participation in monthly HNSC contract meetings.
    • Ensure work being completed is in line with Statements of Work and/or Quality Control Plans.
    • Responsible for managing cleaning supplies at each work site. Ordering as needed to ensure adequate supplies are available.
    • Responsible to assist in quoting new projects and to ensure that all costs are considered to provide a positive net income. Monitor financial performance for each work site.
    • Assist the Executive Director in developing the budget and ongoing financial management of assigned programs/contracts.
    • Review monthly/quarterly data collections to ensure compliance with contractual performance requirements.
    • Coordinate and conduct staff meetings at each site at a minimum of quarterly.
    • Participates in continuing education e.g., Green Clean techniques/credentials, contract bidding/management, etc. and utilizes knowledge gained.
    • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Addendum for Essential Functions if Applicable for multiple departments:

    • Additional requirements for oversight of HNSC programs
      • Assure the accurate and timely completion of SourceAmerica assessments, reports and documentation, payroll, contractual and participant documentation/reports. Including maintaining the consumer files in accordance with SourceAmerica and Hope Network guidelines.
      • Ensure adherence to all regulations regarding the execution of Set Aside Contracts and the provision of janitorial and landscaping/grounds work.

    Position Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 5 years related experience in the management of janitorial personnel and contracts, with gardening/landscaping services a plus.
    • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record as it relates to Hope Network policy.
    • Ability to successfully pass the Federal Security Screening process.
    • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
    • Ability to perform hands on work as needed.
    • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and effectively in both oral and written formats.
    • Availability to work a flexible schedule.
    • Available as back-up to 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to emergency or critical situations including returning a call within 10 minutes and arriving on site within 60 minutes of the call.
    • Ability to manage in a proactive fashion and foster a productive team environment and motivate others.
    • Ability to support and motivate participants toward the goal of reaching their highest employment potential.
    • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
