We are seeking talented Junior Interior Designers to join our dynamic team and contribute to our reputation for excellence in residential design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist principal designer and/or lead designers in the development and execution of interior design concepts for residential projects.
- Develop comprehensive and accurate construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed layouts, to communicate design intent to contractors and ensure precise execution. These drawings should include specifications for materials, finishes, fixtures, and construction methods. Ensure clarity and accuracy to minimize errors during construction and facilitate seamless project coordination.
- Create detailed and high-quality 3D renderings and visualizations using design software (SketchUp or similar) to effectively communicate design concepts and spatial arrangements to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Create detailed design presentations, mood boards, and material palettes to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Source and select furniture, finishes, fabrics, and accessories that align with project aesthetics and client preferences.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to obtain quotes, place orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site visits to observe design implementation and address any on-site challenges or issues.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure cohesive design concepts and quality control across all project stages.
- Research current design trends, materials, and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the design process.
- Maintain organized project files, including correspondence, drawings, and specifications, for easy access and reference.
- Provide administrative support, such as preparing presentations, organizing client meetings, and updating project status reports.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in interior design, preferably in a residential setting.
- Internship experience in an interior design firm is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Canva. Familiarity with 3D rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion) is an advantage.
Creative and Design Skills:
- Possess both the technical aspects of interior design such as spatial planning and construction documentation, and the creative, aesthetic elements that create visually stunning and harmonious spaces.
Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present ideas effectively to team members and clients.
- Ability to create clear and well-organized design documentation.
Organizational and Time Management Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with project coordination and tracking project timelines.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and assist senior designers in the design process.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Positive and friendly attitude with the ability to pivot when needed.
Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to troubleshoot design challenges and propose practical solutions during the design development phase.
