    Salary: $6,177 to $7,517 per month (SR-26, Step D to I)

    The Supervising Land Agent plans, directs and coordinates the activities of a branch engaged in the acquisition, negotiation and disposition of all State and public lands; participates in complex acquisitions and negotiations; and performs other related duties as assigned.To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

    Basic Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree.

    Specialized Experience: Four and one-half (4-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience which demonstrated knowledge of Hawaii Land laws, real estate laws and terminology, the real property appraisal process, various types of land titles and legal instruments affecting land transactions; and the ability to gather and analyze land transaction data, prepare reports of findings including conclusions and recommendations, and meet and deal effectively with others.

    At least one (1) year of the required experience must have been comparable to that of the Land Agent V level in State service.

    Positions at the Land Agent V level personally performs the  most complex land transaction assignments on a continuous basis; or serves as a staff specialist in developing and monitoring program plans, budgets and procedures, special reports and proposed legislation affecting public lands; may supervise lower level land agents and/or clerical personnel; and performs other duties as required.

    Supervisory Aptitude: Supervisory aptitude rather than actual supervisory experience may be accepted. This requirement will be considered to have been met when there is strong affirmative evidence of the necessary supervisory abilities and/or potential. 

    Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements may apply.

    Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.  The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
