    Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: The Enterprise Architect position is classified as a confidential position, level 7.

    Responsibilities: The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is looking to fill a full-time Enterprise Architect position. The Enterprise Architect will serve as a member of the IT shared services leadership team and participate in setting the strategy of IT services to the Maine Community College System, including budgeting, staffing, technology selection, and related matters. They will lead the selection, design, operations and implementation of technology platforms and services across the System. This position will serve as the senior most technologist for the System and be responsible for developing cost effective and sustainable technology solutions across the enterprise. This role will partner with the information security team to ensure that security technologies are effectively designed and integrated into operational platforms such as Active Directory. They are also responsible for the effective design and operation of the System’s disaster recovery and backup platforms, ensuring that the System is resilient to cyber and other disasters. The role is responsible for managing the procurement process and inventory management processes for the System. The role will lead and coordinate training for key infrastructure and security systems and capabilities, ensuring that the workforce is appropriately developed and capable of managing increasingly complex toolsets and technologies. The individual must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making, project management and communication skills. The Enterprise Architect requires the ability to think strategically, lead through influence with the senior leaders of the respective colleges, and to plan and implement collaboratively. This individual must be intellectually curious with rigorous attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving. They can quickly understand complex issues, synthesizing large amounts of information to drive strategic decision-making effectively and efficiently. This individual must have a demonstrated track record of improving operational efficiency, and be an expert at influencing business stakeholders, with success serving as a trusted advisor and advocate. and needs to have the ability to travel as necessary for meetings, workshops, etc. This position will be responsible for providing customer management services to their home college and interface with the President and their leadership team to ensure that IT is responsive to their strategic initiatives and budget priorities. They will also serve as the senior IT leader to provide oversight and support team management of local IT staff, including those that report to different senior leaders (e.g., Associate CIOs). This individual can work at any of the Maine Community Colleges but will have as their home college either Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, Maine or York County Community College in Wells, Maine and will be required to be present there when not otherwise traveling to meetings.

    Minimum Qualifications: The required minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, technology, an academic field typically taught in community college environments, or similar field and 8 years’ relevant work experience. Master’s degree preferred. Valid Driver’s license required.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

    • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure and security systems (8 years).
    • Proficiency in managing resource constrained environments.
    • Demonstrated project management and customer service skills in challenging environments.
    • Experience in the deployment and secure management of network infrastructure, Active Directory platforms, backup and recovery systems, virtualized server systems, and cloud infrastructure.
