Landscape Architect Manager supervises all related activities of a staff of landscape architects and technicians. Oversees, manages, and schedules the development of exterior spaces and physical environments, the development of schematic designs and construction details, and is ultimately responsible for final project. Being a Landscape Architect Manager requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Typically reports to a top management. The Landscape Architect Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Landscape Architect Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • CAMPUS LANDSCAPE DATA STEWARD AND ANALYST

    • Maintain and update the GIS driven Grounds-Arboretum application plant inventory as affected by capital projects, maintenance, and operations (accession and deaccession into the collection).
    • Update data resources and collaborate to track, update, and report on campus landscape metrics including but not limited to trees and turf.

    LANDSCAPE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT & LIAISON

    • Collaborate on defining goals and developing design standards for topics related to open space Landscape/drainage/green infrastructure, campus planning and other related topics.
    • Serve as project liaison and subject matter expert providing direction to efforts that affect the campus landscape: capital construction projects, maintenance & replacement projects, independent staff and student initiatives, other efforts that could affect the campus landscape.
    • Review project documents, designs, and installations as well as maintenance activities for appropriate open space and landscape design, plant selection, preservation, protection and conformance with tree care standards, collection goals, and desired campus landscape goals.
    • Participate in identifying and articulating opportunities for campus landscape and open space improvements/developments whether for possible fund raising/gifting/naming, campus infrastructure improvement projects, or inclusion in other campus improvement/development efforts.
    • Serve as liaison with the Campus Arboretum and Grounds services – facilitate communication and coordination between the office of the University Landscape Architect, the operations, maintenance, and landscape care efforts of the Grounds units, and the education/research/outreach efforts of the Campus Arboretum program and its collection, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide guidance and support for development of transportation, infrastructure, open space, storm water, and other campus systems.

    • Assist with coordination and implementation efforts associated with the enterprise GIS and Historic Preservation.

    • Ability to clearly and concisely present key campus planning concepts and building designs to key university constituents, professional consultants, and UA employees in both written and verbal formats.
    • Skill in facilitating working groups to bring to consensus concepts and ideas with key university constituents, and professional consultants.
    • Ability to understand the attributes of the University of Arizona’s campus architecture (contemporary and historical) and convey how it informs planning and landscape architectural solutions.
    • Extensive graphic communication skills using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, ArcMap, 3D visualization software.
    • A working knowledge of planning and design concepts and procedures, best practices and standards.
