Library Services Coordinator oversees library service offerings designed to meet the needs of a specific user population. Ensures resource availability and implements new programs to meet service gaps. Being a Library Services Coordinator assists groups and individuals in locating, delivery, and obtaining materials. Establish and maintains cooperative agreements between the college and area libraries. Additionally, Library Services Coordinator graduates from an ALA-accredited school. Requires a master's degree. Responsible for coordinating technology accommodations/testing for students with disabilities pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the ADA Amendment Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and any other federal or state law that may apply. The position performs these functions in collaboration with Accessibility Services and reports to the Director of Accessibility Services.
Coordinate testing accommodations for students with disabilities. Work with faculty and students to support using assistive technologies, implementing digital accessibility and ensuring classroom accessibility.
Must have working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to serving people with disabilities in a postsecondary education setting, including Section 504/ADA and experience with digital accessibility. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Strong computer skills for using Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to learn new software. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc. Ability to work comfortably with individuals with apparent and non-apparent disabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, or related field required. (Master’s degree preferred).
Years of Experience
3-5 years of experience working in a capacity in disability services. Must have interest in and working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to serving people with disabilities in a postsecondary education setting, including Section 504/ADA.
Salary
A salary determination will be made at the time of the offer based on actual demonstrated years of experience in the exact position.
