Library Services Director supervises, maintains, and enhances policies and procedures for a library. Oversees professional and support staff involved in cataloging, indexing, issuing books/materials, and keeping records of items on loan. Being a Library Services Director selects books and publications for purchase and subscribes to pertinent periodicals as allowed for by the given budget. Requires master's of library and information science from an ALA-accredited school. Additionally, Library Services Director typically reports to top management. The Library Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The hiring salary for this position is $92,601.60. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The current need for this position requires that the candidate be available to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekends when necessary.* Candidates should be available during library operating hours which include evenings and weekends.

This position will be assigned to the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library at 300 Park Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73102. The Ronald J. Norick Library is named after former Mayor Ron Norick. Norick was a visionary and the champion of the "MAPS" project which voters passed to provide funding for nine new building projects in the downtown area. The library opened in 2004 in the new four-story, 114,130 square foot facility.
