    Serves as the lead subject matter expert for regulations. Oversees and provides consultation for the interpretations and interaction of current regulatory policies and requirements in preparation for surveys. Serves as the liaison between applicable government, regulatory, and key stakeholders and conducts facilitation of on-site visits and evaluations. Performs site visits in accordance with criteria to ensure survey readiness. Establishes expectations organization-wide to ensure survey readiness. Plans for highly impactful development, evaluations, and delivery of educational programs. Conducts routine audits and mock surveys to aid in preparedness, tracking, trending, and facilitation of corrective action plans. Collaborates with others to complete annual reporting. Ensures licensing and accreditation by championing and maintaining the importance for requirements for new, expanding, and existing facilities/services in relation to relevant accrediting standards, evaluating relevant risk and impact. Champions collaborative efforts to ensure certification and evaluates gap analyses. Serves as the subject matter expert by maintaining and facilitating awareness of internal policies and consulting on the interpretation and interaction of current policies, and how they interact with the current climate, and potential changes to regulations and legislation. Oversees team to track, trend, and facilitate the development of complex corrective action plans (CAP) as necessary in collaboration with applicable departments. Establishes standards for data integrity. Provides oversight and removes barriers to implementation of action plans.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Prepares individuals for growth opportunities and advancement; builds internal collaborative networks for self and others. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; drives collaboration to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to foster performance improvement. Demonstrates continuous learning; oversees the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; ensures performance management guidelines and expectations to achieve business needs. Stays up to date with organizational best practices, processes, benchmarks, and industry trends; shares best practices within and across teams. Motivates and empowers teams; maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives. Provides guidance when difficult decisions need to be made; creates opportunities for expanded scope of decision making and impact.

    • Oversees the operation of multiple units within a department by identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of work assignment completion; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies. Gains cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision making; sets standards, measures progress, and fosters resolution of escalated issues. Communicates goals and objectives; analyzes resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business plans; prioritizes and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business objectives.

    • Serves as the subject matter expert for regulations within regions, internal and external committees, and key stakeholders by: providing consultation on the interpretation, interaction, and implementation of current policies, regulations, and legislation and advices on the current climate and potential changes which may have long term effects on business operations; leading, chairing, and voting in committees, projects, and relevant initiatives to implement change championing development of and evaluating educational programs to align organizational policies and procedures with regulatory requirements; and removing barriers to process improvements issues, informing, and escalating barriers to senior leaders as appropriate, and weighing practical, technical, and KP capability considerations in addressing issues and advices on policy changes.

    • Oversees data management and reporting by: establishing the standards for data entry and storage for quality data; and validating accurate information and reports have been disseminated throughout organization, providing oversight, removing barriers, and ensuring results for implementation of action plans.

    • Ensures licensing and accreditation by: championing and maintaining the importance for requirements for new, existing, and expanding facilities/services to lead achievement of compliance with state, federal, and accrediting standards; championing the collaboration and enabling relationship building with other departments to ensure certification; and reviewing and evaluating a gap analysis to identify services renewals and planning to ensure services are compliant.

    • Oversees regulatory audits and survey efforts within service area or region by: establishing expectations organization wide for survey readiness, developing action plans based on results, and keeping current on regulatory requirements in preparation for surveys (e.g., NCQA, Joint Commission, AAAHC); serving as the primary contact and staying abreast of interactions between applicable government, regulatory, vendors, and key stakeholders or on-site visits and evaluations; establishing and reviewing standards for site visit criteria and performs site visits as appropriate to ensure survey readiness; developing the processes for implementing the standards for audit documentation, information, and reports; reviewing prepared audit documentation, information, and reports for ad hoc and complex auditing, focusing on high vulnerability areas; and directing continuous survey readiness activities to maintain compliance with regulatory standards to be adaptive to changes in regulatory and KP requirement; collaborating with Medical Group, Regional departments and Program office to ensure high level of performance with regulatory, accreditation and internal requirements and surveys (e.g. NCQA, CMS, DOH, AAAHC, Joint Commission, QHIC, and Board of Directors). and collaborating with leadership across departments (e.g., Revenue Cycle) to ensure and monitor regional continued growth, completion and submission of the annual state/federal/regulatory body reporting as required.
