Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision. Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking a Journeyman Lineman who wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to safe, reliable, energy efficient solutions with exceptional service.
Under the general supervision of the Working Foreman/Lead Lineman this position performs highly skilled electrical work including all types of construction, maintenance, trouble shooting, and retirement of Association facilities. The Journeyman Lineman will work on energized and de-energized lines and oversee the work of the Apprentice Linemen, Equipment Operators and Groundmen. This position will also assist the Lead Lineman in all areas, including construction, paperwork, and scheduling.
