Loan Collection Clerk supports the collections group by performing routine administrative and clerical tasks. Inputs data, coordinates document distribution, and responds to customer requests related to loans. Being a Loan Collection Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Loan Collection Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Responsibilities:
- Contact customers to collect outstanding payments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities
- Resolve customer inquiries and disputes regarding billing and payment
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely resolution of customer issues
- Follow up on payment arrangements and negotiate payment plans when necessary
- Prepare and send collection letters or notices to delinquent customers
- Update customer accounts with payment information and notes on collection efforts
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Proficiency in using accounting software for account management and analysis
- Strong math skills for accurate calculations and account analysis
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
