Localization Engineer develops and produces localized versions of the company's products and services. Supports the creation and maintenance of localization test specifications and scripts for automating localization testing. Being a Localization Engineer tests localized products according to test specifications. Identifies, prioritizes and fixes localization bugs according to established procedures. Additionally, Localization Engineer applies working knowledge of networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and testing/production environments in performing work assignments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Localization Engineer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Job Description

    • Function and perform as the first line supervisor for a work unit of Bridge Services Representatives. Responsible for bridge operations during assigned shift. Assist with the training of new employees, with coordination and performing special events (such as bridge walk), and with with other administrative duties as directed by supervisors, such as providing informational requests and conducting research.
    • Must be able to operate plaza monitors and operations center of Mackinac Bridge daily and understand how to carry out daily bridge operations and handle related emergency response.
    • The employee, under general supervision, works with provided toll collection and revenue accounting policies and procedures and exercises considerable judgement to select courses of action. The employee makes final determination of toll classifications and is responsible for resolution of customer complaints and public inquiries.

    Required Education and Experience

    Education

    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

    Experience Bridge Services Supervisor 9

    Four years of experience equivalent to a Bridge Services Representative, including three years equivalent to a Bridge Services Representative E7 or two years equivalent to a Bridge Services Representative 8.

    Alternate Education and Experience

    Bridge Services Supervisor 9

    Completion of 30 semester (45 term) credits including 12 semester (20 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, business, finance, management, mathematics, public administration, or statistics.

    OR

    Two years managerial/supervisory experience or four years of experience with primary focus on processing financial transactions.

    Additional Requirements and Information

    Possession of a valid driver’s license.

    Retirement Programs: The State of Michigan offers 401(k) and 457 plans for new hires to save for retirement.     Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

    Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.

    Bonus Programs: Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases. Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.

    Military Pay Differential: Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay. Prior military service may also allow seniority credits to accelerate eligibility for longevity bonuses and additional personal leave accrual.
