Localization Engineer develops and produces localized versions of the company's products and services. Supports the creation and maintenance of localization test specifications and scripts for automating localization testing. Being a Localization Engineer tests localized products according to test specifications. Identifies, prioritizes and fixes localization bugs according to established procedures. Additionally, Localization Engineer applies working knowledge of networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and testing/production environments in performing work assignments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Localization Engineer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a Project Engineer to support our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. 

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The Project Engineer 3 will manage engineering design efforts, which may be performed by internal and/or external engineering design teams. He/She will also manage design reviews and assure comments are implemented by facilitating the resolution of comments and ensure delivery of the design product. For all design efforts, this includes verification of complaint design delivery at each stage (i.e., 30/60/90/100 %).

     

    Supervise the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. Plan and direct engineering assignments on the project. Demonstrate technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Develop scoping and design phases.• Plan, forecast, and identify necessary engineering resources to support project workload requirements.• Review project engineering progress against approved schedules and budgets; evaluating changes; and taking corrective action when required.• Application of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), performance reporting, and variance analysis.• Manage technical requirements for construction, including coordinating designer-constructor interfaces, design changes, submittal reviews, inspection documentation, and request for information (RFI), field change requests (FCR), commissioning, and turnover processes.• Work with the integrated project team to assure scope, requirements tracking, safety in design, etc. are correctly implemented.• Work with LANL Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) representatives and Subject Matter Experts (SME) for identification and resolution of issues within these areas.• Plan and forecast project engineering staffing needs.• Review engineering progress against approved schedules and budgets; evaluate variances and develop corrective action when needed.• Adhere to and enforce the policies, programs, procedures, and practices with the requirements of the LANL Conduct of Engineering program.• Mentor junior project engineers and provide oversight of their work.• Participate in process improvement initiatives.

    • Position typically requires a degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university;• Specialized courses in relevant general engineering, architectural design or an appropriate engineering discipline, and progressive work experience, including supervision, preferably in project design engineering; may include other relevant types of engineering including startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or engineering/construction firms.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Current registration with a recognized state licensing board, like an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE).• Advanced degree in an engineering or technical field.• Familiarity with DOE standards and Orders, e.g., DOE O 413.3b, DOE-STD-1189, DOE-STD-1066, etc. in producing designs utilizing AutoCAD tools• Advanced degree in relevant engineering/technical field.• Professional registration as a professional engineer or registered architect.• Awareness of NRC or DOE/NNSA nuclear/radiological facilities or projects, and of DOE standards and Orders, e.g., DOE O 413.3b, DOE-STD-1189, DOE-STD-1066, etc.• Current or previous experience as a certified Control Account Manager (CAM) under the Earned Value Management System (EVMS).• Current or previous experience working as a Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) for a design contract.• Experience developing engineering schedules using tools such as MS Project or Oracle P6.• Experience working with design and construction contracts.
