MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADE: GS-07:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the federal service. Specialized experience includes assisting higher level staff preparing portions of work papers using automated software; conducting, or participating in interviews; attending meetings to observe and learn interviewing and presentation techniques; and, providing assistance to higher level staff with researching laws, regulations, guidelines, and procedures.

EDUCATION: Completed one full academic year of graduate education in a related field such as public policy, law, political science, business administration, finance, or public administration.

Responsibilities/Duties: Incumbent serves in an entry through intermediate and advanced level capacity. Performs duties characteristic of the specific occupational series GS-0346, accomplishing a variety of developmental duties in support of the overall work of the organization. Assignments are selected to broaden skills and provide practical experience, as prescribed in the Master Training Plan, for progressively more complex assignments.
Engages in developing, and/or implementing logistics policies, processes, initiatives and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon systems acquisition in the areas of Logistics Support. Assigned systems are characterized by new and emerging technologies; high monetary value; used within a context of new or innovative military strategies; unusual fielding requirements; special or unusual training, shipping, storage, protective, maintenance and support requirements; and/or comparable complexities. Develops milestones. Ensures compliance with policies and recommends policy changes to fit requirements of new systems. Defines problems, develops recommendations for issues and resolutions of issues to be addressed. Ensures coordination and/or participation in planning of all concerned functional elements.
Performs assigned portions of professional or technical projects involving such duties as: Receives assignments with increasingly difficult duties designed to provide experience and training in the Supply and/or Maintenance mission areas. Assists higher grade Logistics Management Specialist in all phases of the logistics program to include developing, coordinating, implementing, and managing assigned program areas. Acquires knowledge of all weapon system life cycle phases and their logistics implications and the required integration. Provides support in special studies, reports and presentations to management.
Performs administrative duties such as: gathers and reviews a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare reports; conducts analyses of data to support conclusions or recommendations for action. Utilizes accepted procedures, processes and analysis assistance to operating elements.
Upon satisfactory completion of on the job training and meeting regulatory and qualification requirements, trainee will progress to the full performance GS-11 level through the intervening grade of GS-09. The specific duties assigned to this position will vary, depending upon the occupational Position Description in which the incumbent was hired, as well as the developmental needs of the individual employee.
