Description - The objective of the Security Officer is the access control, protection of people, property, and company assets through the due diligence of attention to detail, observing, reporting and deterrence.

Security Officer Responsibilities – The responsibilities of a Security Officer may vary from day to day. The following list contains, but is not limited to, common responsibilities for a Security Officer:

• Monitoring access control and challenging those without proper identification.
• Escorting employees, guests, and contractors.
• Monitoring a CCTV system.
• Keeping an accurate and chronological account of your day (DAR).
• Documenting incidents with an incident report.
• Assisting ill or injured employees, contractors, and or guests.
• Investigating strange noises or smells.
• Responding to 911 misdials and actual emergencies.
• Investigating fire alarms.
• Dealing with power outages or power dips.
• Crowd control and evacuation assistance during building emergencies.
