Machine Operator

Our client is an aerospace machine shop in Simi Valley that is a sister company of a world aerospace leader in dedicated lean-cell manufacturing.

They specialize in complex, high-tolerance, difficult-to-machine parts. They are looking for a CNC Machine Operator. In this role you will have the exemplary manufacturing skills, a working knowledge and experience on a variety of machines and controls, and a dedication to being part of a world class manufacturing team.

Location : Simi Valley

Salary : $18.00 - 21.00 / hr (DOE)

This is a full time, temp-to-hire position

Schedule : Mon-Fri 7 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM . Other shifts might be available.

Responsibilities :

• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and informs lead person of discrepancies.
• Thoroughly inspects first part run.
• Meets job standard times with minimal supervision.
• Recognizes production problems and informs supervisor.
• Understanding of basic machine language.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools.
• Reads and interprets manufacturing / Engineering drawings.
• Performs miscellaneous duties in the machine shop as directed.

Requirements :

• Works independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time.
• Demonstrates a good attitude toward work and arrives on time for start of shift.
• Properly uses basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, indicators, etc.).
• Follows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
• Communicates well verbally and in writing.
• Team player with a can-do attitude.
• Strong skills and aptitude in math.
• Preferred : 1 year experience in the manufacturing industry with knowledge of speeds and feeds.
• Preferred : Experience with MS applications.
• Preferred : Completion of vocational or college training in machine shop (Certificate of Completion of basic machining course.). Benefits (upon hiring) :
