Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor oversees personnel in charge of maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding various production machines and equipment. Supervises the maintenance and repair of pumps, grinders, mixers, and a variety of other machines. Being a Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor oversees the setup and use of tools and equipment before production use in order to ensure the optimum level of safety. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Maintains district owned vehicles in good running order. Responsible for general service and maintenance of all buses and other school owned vehicles. Provide safe, efficient transportation for students when requested to serve in the capacity of school bus driver.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
A. Serve as immediate supervisor of mechanics, assign and monitor daily work, inspect work and assist with staff evaluations. Serve as supervisor in the absence of the Student Transportation Supervisor.
B. Maintain an inventory of replacement parts and fluids.
C. Serve as a substitute bus driver.
D. Assist with snow removal.
E. Instructs mechanic in assignments and assigns daily duties.
F. Coordinate with Student Transportation Supervisor with assigning buses to be used on field trips.
G. Conduct safety inspections on school buses as required.
H. Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
I. Immediate supervisor will determine work schedule.
J. Monitor and comply with federal, state and district policies and procedures.
K. Daily Duties to include the following:
