Reports to: VP of Operations
Job Overview: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products in alignment with the company's needs and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage production and inventory control, shipping, receiving, and materials storage
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce transportation costs
- Oversee the storage of purchased parts and finished goods
- Establish and enforce procedures for year-end physical inventory valuation
- Collaborate on manufacturing floor layout updates and ensure optimal material flow
- Handle write-offs or inventory adjustments for damaged or obsolete items
- Maintain inventory levels to meet customer delivery timelines
- Ensure the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system
- Lead teams responsible for purchasing, warehousing, shipping, and receiving
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand forecasts and expedite materials for production builds
- Manage the cycle count program
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering, or Business
- A minimum of five years of experience in supply chain/materials control
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software
Physical Demands: This role may occasionally require standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, or hearing. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment: The work environment may vary between an air-conditioned office and areas exposed to weather conditions. Occasionally, noise levels can be high.
