    Job Description


    The Butler Product Manager is responsible for multiple product lines throughout their lifecycle, from ideation to launch, continuous improvement, and discontinuation, keeping in mind that a product may be defined as a service or software, for revenue or not. This includes all aspects of business pertaining to the products included in that line, including financial performance, product specifications, go-to-market strategy, quality, forecasting, pricing, margin expectations, promotions / marketing, training & technical support, and operational improvements. The Product Manager works to understand customer and market needs, to define product features and requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product excellence, innovation, strategic marketing, and sales to build, launch, and market their products. The value of the position is to maximize volume and profitability of the products while minimizing cost, overhead, and claims, while positioning it for long term success.

    • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, builder and end-user needs, and competitive landscape to guide product development, innovation, software enhancements, and pricing strategies.

    • Sustaining Product Management: Prioritize opportunities to maximize profitability on existing products through revenue growth and cost reduction while maintaining current product specifications, design standards, marketing materials, etc. Develop the necessary marketing materials and promotional campaigns to drive a healthy pipeline of sales opportunities for your business and increase the close rate.

    • New Product Development: Define gaps in products and the market where we can gain market share and prepare a project for our Stage Gate process of approval.

    • Project Management: Define projects for NPD or continuous improvement and lead those teams to timely delivery of products and results by managing timelines, coordinating resources, and prioritizing features based on business goals and knowledge of the market

    • Product Lifecycle Management: Track product performance, gather customer feedback, and make data-driven decisions to improve product performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in product excellence, IT, innovation & R&D, engineering, sales, marketing, segmentation, manufacturing, and estimating to ensure alignment and smooth execution of new product development, launch, and maintenance activities.

    • Product Launch: Develop go-to-market strategies, product positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies in collaboration with sales and marketing


    Qualifications


    Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications

    • 4-year degree – BS or BA in any field – business, marketing, or engineering preferred
    • 5 years relevant Product Management experience

    Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications

    • 10 years Product Management experience / New Product Development experience
    • Previous experience in the metal buildings industry – with a Nucor brand, Cornerstone, or other major
    • Structural Engineering
    • MBA
    • Professional Engineer
