As the WCC Manufacturing Technician, You Will Have the Opportunity to:

• Operate and monitor a World Class Channel, machining large multi-featured steel rings for various slewing bearing applications.
• Be responsible for ensuring quality, cost, safety and productivity through statistical monitoring, condition monitoring, process evaluation and other improvement techniques, requiring some mathematical computations.
• Provide daily process monitoring and support process optimization and cost reduction projects (i.e., optimum use of workers, machines, materials, and facilities).

You will work closely with manufacturing engineers, maintenance personnel, manufacturing personnel and quality assurance to achieve manufacturing objectives and a World Class culture:

• Operate safely, according to equipment guidelines.
• Produce qualified part within specification and procedures.
• Achieve production goals and meet all customer requirements.
• Assist Engineering with product/process improvement projects.

NOTE: Additional training on this new equipment will be provided by the machine manufacturer and SKF.

Tasks Performed on the Job Include but Not Limited to:

• Milling, drilling, turning on metal working equipment.
• Gear cutting, understanding how to measure for deviation and adjust.
• DIN ISO programming and cycle programming.
• Tending and setup of automated machinery.
• Tool setting and tool life monitoring.
• Interpretation of quality data coming from inspection, machining, fastems reporting systems.
• Must be able to understand machining process (hand off from OP to OP).

Requirements:

• Technical Associates Degree/Apprenticeship Graduate is desired and 1-3 years minimum of relevant experience.
• 4-5 years of directly related technical machine programming and operations experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Metal working experience is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Read manufacturing drawings with GD&T callouts required.
• Machining experience with CNC programming.
• Knowledge of (Common Systems or XA) or (ERP) system is preferred.
