Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     DESCRIPTION
    The Director of Marketing/Communications works with the school administration and Advancement Team to implement the strategic marketing plan and communication priorities of the school. This position facilitates the day-today communication functions directed toward advancing the school, its programs, and constituent knowledge of school-related activities. The role also coordinates and collaborates with various constituencies on front-lines marketing initiatives and deliverables for the school.
    The Director of Marketing/Communications reports directly to the Head of School as part of the Advancement Team and is expected to perform his or her role with minimal supervision.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Act as the institutional storyteller, capturing the culture of the hallways, classroom, stage and playing fields and drive the content pipeline to consistently create and deliver compelling communications for the entire Nashville Christian community;
    • Help develop a strategic plan that supports internal and external communication efforts, incorporating consistents themes that support the strategic initiatives and priorities of the school;
    • Craft and drive multi-year marketing and promotional campaigns that support the school with its institutional priorities and core mission;
    • Manage Nashville Christian's internet presence, including the website and all social networking channels (including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), etc.);
    • Write newsletters, post school news online and through social media , and cultivate relationships with local media representatives;
    • oversee crisis communication strategy, planning, and implementation;
    • Monitor all forms of media (web, social, print, email) to ensure that all constituencies receive timely and up-to-date information and respond to online feedback as appropriate;
    • Maintain, prioritize, and implement and overall project plan for website content, upgrades, and ongoing requests;
    • Work with the Development Office to coordinate print and electronic communications, website updates, etc. where needed, particularly during funding drives and campaign efforts;
    • Work with the Admissions department assisting with the production of recruitment materials to drive interest in Nashville Christian School;
    • Work with the Athletics department to develop social media content to promote Athletics;
    • Provide counsel in the production of collateral materials for a range of initiatives, including Fine Arts Programs, Athletics, Academic Awards, ect.;
    • Manage and plan department budget including all advertising and publications expenses;
    • Act as supervisor to the Graphic Design Staff;
    • Manage the collection of photographs and video's for the school's website;
    • Oversee proofing and production of all publications and materials for print and web;
    • Preserve and promote Nashville Christian's brand and visual identity, including evaluation of all print and digital communication components;
    • Educate and inform internal constituents about the importance of adherence to brand standards;
    • Assess and pursue marketing and advertising opportunities, including developing and advertising schedule in conjunction with the Office of Admission and Summer Camp Director;
    • Work with the Eagles Parent Association to communicate EPA-sponsored initiatives;
    • Create a communications strategy to foster relationships and partnerships with the residents of Bellevue and the greater local community;
    • Conduct demographic and market research as needed;
    • Develop, partner, nurture, and maintain effective relationships with the parents as well as the community at large;
    • Demonstrate the utmost integrity and professionalism in and outside the school;
    • Provide a role model for students while being an active and visible participant in the Nashville Christian School community and the community at large.

    QUALIFICATION
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field (preferred but not required).
    • Five-plus years of relevant full-time experience in marketing and/or media relations-including advertising, direct marketing, print production, reputation management, public relations, writing, editing, and publications project management in a business or educational setting.
    • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).
    • Experience in crafting and placing compelling advertising content, including print, digital, and broadcast campaigns tied to Admission strategic goals.
    • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high customer service standards.

    Technical Knowledge
    • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing.

    • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Meet, Calendar, Sheets, Slides, Docs, Forms, ect.) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing.
    • Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords.
    • Working knowledge of contents management systems, HTML coding, and digital graphics production.

    The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, well organized, and self-motivated with the ability to work under tight deadlines and structure. He/she must be able to communicate and collaborate positively with all members of the school community, have a thirst for learning new marketing/communication strategies, and keep up to date on the latest research and trends in school marketing/communications.
    SCHEDULE

    This is the equivalent of a full-time position which works Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM with a one-hour lunch break as commensurate with hours the school is open. Time-off shall coincide with the NCS teacher schedule with school holidays and a modified 10-week summer work schedule as determined by the Head of School.
