Space Planning Analyst

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

    Execute the Kroger Company’s space management (KOMPASS) process for assigned categories. Execute “Customer 1st” shelf strategies to enhance the shopping experience. Positively and measurably impact the Kroger Company’s sales/margins by providing accurate placement and allocation for all items. Execute planogram development to support the Divisions when changes are needed.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • This hybrid position will be required to work in our Corporate Office at least one half-day per week based on your team’s schedule
    • Provide category analysis obtained by leveraging the data available from syndicated sources such IRI and 84.51
    • Develop expertise in the area of assortment and space analysis to enable Kroger to reach their sales goals and stated objectives
    • Assist in pre/post analysis of each category update
    • Execute every step of the KOMPASS process; develop “best practices” on an ongoing basis and constantly contribute to the process
    • Gain expertise in all facets of the grocery industry, especially in those categories you participate, through both internal and external sources; stay current on those issues that most impact assigned categories
    • Communicate with Divisions and Stores as needed and produce planograms as requested.

    MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 4 year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Degree in Business, Statistics or Economics preferred
    • Proficient Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience using Apollo software; the ability to read and understand planograms preferred
    • Capacity to learn multiple computer systems and web based applications
    • Experience functioning in a corporate office environment
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Capability to collaborate with others and contribute effectively to a team
    • Expert organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
    • Experience generating detailed reports and delivering a summary of your findings in both spreadsheet and presentation form
    • Ability to effectively craft and deliver a message verbally to any audience including senior level executives
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize and multi-task

    MINIMUM PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    • Must be able to:
      • Remain standing/sitting for several hours at a time
      • Lift 10-30 lbs. occasionally
