Maternity Services Director is responsible for the maternity unit and all sub-unit operations and staffing. Coordinates activities related to labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and the baby nursery. Being a Maternity Services Director manages the departments operating budget and measures performance using standards established by the hospital. May direct community outreach programs to deliver women's health information and education. Additionally, Maternity Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires registered nurse (RN). The Maternity Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsible for: Staff and volunteer team at Henry Smith House (may include staff/ volunteers/external contractors)

    Location: Henry Smith House, Watford

    Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Hertfordshire team as Team Leader (Maternity Cover) on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

    PURPOSE OF ROLE

    • Provide direct operational support to the Mental Health Manager and the Community Opportunities Manager in the effective running of the service.
    • Leading by good example, give clear direction and support to the staff and volunteers.

    Our successful Coordinator will:

    • Take responsibility for making day-to-day decisions on operational and member matters, ensuring the effective running of the service.
    • Promote the service within the local community and beyond to potential new service users, their supporters, and other stakeholders.
    • Have a clear overview of relationships with all individuals who we support.
    • Handle complaints to the service, including monitoring and escalating where appropriate.
    • Communicate regularly with individuals that we support and their families and social workers.
    • Promote the service internally and externally.
    • Lead on processing new referrals to the service.
    • Lead team meetings and undertake staff and volunteer supervision.
    • Assist in recruitment and induction of staff and volunteers
    • Be responsible for Health and safety within the team/location.
    • Report on quality and regulatory monitoring requirements.
    • Acts with professionalism and discretion where appropriate in communication with all staff and clients and encourages others to do so.
    • Assist in service development.

    We are looking for someone who:

    • Knowledgeable and experienced (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and be willing to work towards Level 5 Qualification.
    • Good communicator at all levels
