Mechanical Designer jobs in Utah
Mechanical Designer designs and creates layouts and documentation for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical building systems that meet project and technical specifications. Uses computer-aided design (CAD) and other specialized software tools to generate detailed layout plans, schematics, and drawings for mechanical systems. Being a Mechanical Designer maintains accurate and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings. Incorporates best practices to address design space constraints and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes. Additionally, Mechanical Designer collaborates with engineers and other project members. May conduct or participate in site visits to inspect installations or troubleshoot problems. May require an associate degree in mechanical design, drafting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Designer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. You will be part of the global mill liner team supporting design and manufacturing of mill liner parts.
Your responsibilities- Design and draft mill liner packages
- Track manufacturing of designs at several suppliers or at in house manufacturing sites to ensure quality, delivery, and accuracy
- knowledgeable in several design and document control systems (SolidWorks, Enovia, 3DS and AutoCAD Etc.)
- Work with order execution and proposal teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost effective
What you bring- Minimum of 3 years design experience
- Some experience in SolidWorks a plus but will train the right candidate
- Some experience in AutoCAD a plus but will train the right candidate
- Document control experience and familiarity with ECO processes
- Excellent collaboration skills to work in a global team with little to no supervision
- Must reside in the Unites States and preferably in Salt Lake City
