Media Buyer is responsible for maximizing the impact of advertising campaigns. Coordinates the development and execution of media and advertising plans that support the client's overall marketing strategy, tactics, message, and objectives. Being a Media Buyer uses analytics to design innovative strategies to ensure the client's marketing campaigns reach the target audience. Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors. Additionally, Media Buyer collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to execute plans and control pacing, optimization, and timelines for campaigns. Conducts research on new media strategies, platforms, and channels to utilize for future campaigns or ongoing campaign evolvement. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. The Media Buyer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Salary Information:This is a student assistant position paid at $14.96 hourly.

To Be Eligible For Student Employment An Applicant Must:
A.) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
B.) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and
C.) Have at least a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
D.) An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year and students may apply for the position all year. When departments need to fill a position, they review the current “pool” and call students for interviews. Students who were not hired for one position still remain in the pool for other positions.
